EasyStand Evolv with Swing Away Front

Modular design makes the EasyStand Evolv the most versatile standing frame available. The base unit is functional for many users, however when more support is needed a wide variety of positioning options can be added to accommodate the most involved users.

Evolv Medium:
Fits individuals from 4’0-5’6″ and up to 200 lbs.
Seat Depth Range (from seat pivot) 14″-19″

Evolv Large:
Fits individuals from 5’0-6’2” and up to 280 lbs.
Seat Depth Range (from seat pivot) 18″-23″

Evolv XT:
Fits individuals from 6’0-6’10” and up to 350 lbs.
Seat Depth Range (from seat pivot) 19″-24″

The EasyStand Evolv is the most modular stander available. With over 60 options and configurations, each unit can be built specifically for an individual or facility. These options, that would normally be custom modifications, allow a stander to be configured for specific needs.

The optimal standing position has been perfected in the Evolv standing frame. By strategically placing the pivot points of the stander in line with the body’s natural pivot points, options like the hip supports, lateral supports, and head support remain in place from sitting to standing, minimizing shear. When positioned correctly, the contoured seat provides a maximum over-center stretch for various body types. The Evolv also accommodates for hip and knee contractures through proper positioning of the footplates and optional independent knee pads.

Accessibility & Independence
The Evolv’s open base makes independent transfers easier. A larger Transfer Seat or Rotating Seat can also be added to make transfers more manageable. To make standing pivot or lift assist transfers easier, an optional Swing-Away Front or Removable Back can be added. The user can independently achieve the standing position with the manual hydraulic actuator or optional push-button Pow’r Up Lift.

Safety & Convenience
The Evolv standing frame provides a safe and supportive transition to standing. It allows the user to stand in three easy steps – adjust, transfer, and pump up. Both caregivers and users are more comfortable with the Evolv because of the safe and easy lateral transfer and supportive transition to standing. Don’t just take our word for it – see what others have to say about the versatility and convenience of the Evolv.

Increasing Standing Compliance
There are a number of excellent research studies documenting the benefits of standing programs for an individual’s long-term health. The EasyStand Evolv allows the user to stand in small bursts and yet still stand long enough to affect bone density and maximize other health benefits.

Transfers are an issue for wheelchair users. Like many things, transferring gets easier with practice. With assisted transfers, it is always a good idea to review the transfer strategy with the client before transferring, and talk them through the steps as they are happening. This will help reduce anxiety for the person being transferred. There are many different methods of transferring into the EasyStand Evolv stander, whether you transfer independently or need assistance. There are also a variety of options that can be added to the Evolv to help make your method of transferring more manageable.

Independent Transfer: A person with paraplegia or those with good upper-body strength can do a lateral transfer from their wheelchair to the seat of the stander. The Evolv’s base is designed so a wheelchair can be positioned at any angle from parallel to 90 degrees against the edge of the Evolv seat (the front wheelchair caster can even come underneath the front corner of the seat). The kneepads flip up and out of the way allowing sufficient room to position legs and feet.

Options that can help an independent transfer: Sliding board, Transfer Seat, Shadow Tray

Stand Pivot Transfer: A caregiver can assist a patient into the stander using a stand pivot transfer. A caregiver assists a person out of their wheelchair and into a standing position, then turns or pivots, and sits the person down on the seat of the stander.

Options that can help a stand pivot transfer: Swing Away Front, Rotating Seat, Transfer Seat, Shadow Tray

EasyStand overheadlift Patient Lift DevicePatient Lift Device: Those with a higher level of disability can use a patient lift device, such as a Hoyer lift or an overhead ceiling lift, to be positioned in the standing frame. The rear legs of the Evolv are elevated so the lifting device to be used from many different angles.

Hints: To make the transfer from a patient lift device go smoother, recline the back of the standing frame slightly. With some patient lift devices it may make the transfer easier to raise the foot plates, allowing the transfer device to slide closer to the base of the Evolv. Be sure to reposition the foot plates prior to standing.

Options that can help transferring with a patient lift device: Swing Away Front, Removable Back, Transfer Seat, Shadow Tray

EasyStand Evolv Transfer Seat Option - Swing Away FrontTransfer Seat:
To make lateral transfers easier, the wider Transfer Seat can be added to the Evolv providing a larger surface. The Transfer Seat acts like a built-in transfer board, and in some cases, can replace the need for a transfer board.
EasyStand Evlov - Swing Away FrontSwing-Away Front:
The H-Frame style front allows one side of the table to swing away, making room for the caregiver/aid to position their body in front of the seat for an easier standing pivot or patient lift transfer.
EasyStand Evlov - Rotating Seat OptionRotating Seat:
The Rotating Seat has a padded disk embedded in the seat that reduces shear while swinging the user’s legs into place. It rotates 90 degrees and locks into place.
EasyStand Evolv - Removable Back OptionRemovable Back:
When transferring into the EasyStand with a patient lift from the rear of the unit, a removable back is handy. Two knobs quickly remove and re-attach the back.
EasyStand Evolv - Swing Away TrayShadow Tray:
When the Shadow Tray is flipped up, it creates more space near the front of the seat for an assisted transfer or independent transfer, especially when combined with the Swing-Away Front. The Shadow Tray and knee pads flip out of the way for an easy transfer.

For clients who have difficulty transferring or prefer to stand directly from their wheelchair, we also offer the EasyStand StrapStand.

Shadow Tray

The Shadow Tray with contoured chest pad provides constant anterior support from sitting to standing and any position in between. No other standing device features a support surface like it.

Enhanced Tray Accessibility
The Shadow Tray is accessible in the seated position and as the user pumps to a standing position, the tray “shadows” and moves with them, providing tray access in all positions between sitting to standing. People who can only stand partially upright have complete access to the tray, while remaining fully supported.

Great Choice for Schools
Using the Shadow Tray as both a stander and a desk make it a perfect choice for home or school use. It is exceptionally easy to change positions without transferring.

Increased Standing Compliance
There are a number of excellent research studies documenting the benefits of passive standing programs for an individual’s long-term health. With the Shadow Tray, users can easily change positions without having to transfer into their wheelchair. This makes it easier to stand in small bursts and still stand long enough to affect bone density and maximize other health benefits.

Most people who can propel a manual wheelchair can operate the Evolv with the self-propelled mobile option. To maximize transfer room, the push rims move forward when the kneepad is flipped up (a unique feature of the Evolv Mobile stander). The drive wheels (with high efficiency chain drive) and push rim mechanisms are closer to the user, improving propulsion and steering while standing. Wheel locks secure the mobile stander while transferring and provide safe stationary standing.

Benefits of Mobile/Dynamic Standing
Standing mobility provides more independence and opportunity to explore a wide range of environments and have more interaction with peers. Dynamic standers can also maximize function, from performing activities like doing dishes to “wheeling” up the aisle to get married. There are numerous research studies that suggest enhanced benefits when using a mobile/dynamic standing frame.
