EasyStand Bantam™

EasyStand Bantam standing frame | Lily Harris - Cerebral Palsy, 40"

Lily Harris – Cerebral Palsy, 40″

The EasyStand Bantam is the only standing frame to combine a sit-to-stand transition with the added function of an supine stander. By alternating positions, a child can tolerate standing for a longer period of time. Also, when it is safer and easier for a caregiver to transfer and stand a child, the child will stand more often, increasing standing compliance. The Bantam fits kids from early intervention through elementary school.

Extra Small: Fits kids 28”-40” tall and up to 50 lbs.
Seat Depth Range (from seat pivot) 7″-12″

Why Stand your Child with a Disability?
There are a number of excellent research studies documenting the medical benefits of standing programs for a child’s long-term health. Besides the medical benefits, children have also experienced enhanced social development and peer interaction while standing, especially with the self-propelled mobile option. Therapists and teachers notice increased cognition, alertness, vocalization and responsiveness. Parents have observed how activities of daily living have increased, and kids like how standing allows them to play!

Transferring into the BantamTransferring into the Bantam

Starting from a seated position is a more natural transition to standing; however, for some children transfers to a supine stander are more manageable. The Bantam allows positioning from supine to sitting to standing. Children with limited range of motion due to hip and/or knee contractures will benefit from supine with hip-knee flexion positioning. Children with contractures are able to stand with the support surface of the Bantam matching the hip and knee flexion of the child and can be adjusted as range of motion in the hips and knees improves.

Lateral seat-to-seat transfer:

Like other EasyStand standers, the Bantam allows for an easy seat-to-seat transfer, which is ideal for kids with good upper body control.

Supine flat-to-load transfer:

By adding the supine option to the Bantam, children who are more involved can use the stander. A flat-to-load transfer is ideal for kids with poor head and upper body control.

Supine with hip-knee flexion transfer:

When sit-to-stand and the supine option are combined in the Bantam, the stander accommodates kids like no other stander. A child can be transferred into the stander in a supine flat-to-load position with a flexion/bend in the hip or knee area. This flexibility makes it ideal for kids with hip and knee contractures or high tone.

To Stand:

Secure positioning straps, pads and optional Shadow Tray. Elevate child to the desired position by pushing the foot pedal to activate the manual gas spring lift (or optional manual hydraulic pump or electric lift). Child can be positioned in an upright, partially upright or supine standing position.

EasyStand Bantam Mobile

EasyStand Bantam Small Mobile

Whether your child stands at home, school, or therapy, the Bantam Mobile option will provide new opportunities. At school, they can play while standing and participate in activities like shooting baskets in gym or “wheeling” down the hall while interacting at peer-height. At home, they can reach toys on shelves in their bedroom, or get their own snack from the cupboard. Mobile standing can provide enhanced independence and self-esteem, while benefiting from being in the natural standing position.

The Bantam Mobile was created with safety and ease of use in mind. The depth adjustable push rims move out of the way for an easy transfer, and can be re-positioned to match a child’s reach, even for use in the sitting position. The drive wheels and high efficiency chain drive maximize propulsion and steering capability while standing. A parent or caregiver can activate the wheel locks for safe transferring or stationary standing.

There are numerous research studies and articles that suggest enhanced benefits of standing when using a mobile/dynamic standing frame.

Shadow Tray

EasyStand Bantam for Kids

Keighly Schuh-McFarlane, Cerebral Palsy, 36”

The Bantam can be equipped with a supportive Shadow Tray. The Shadow Tray provides constant anterior support in any position, as well as an activity surface, making it a perfect choice for the child who needs more trunk and upper body positioning.

For kids, the tray provides a perfect surface for books, switch toys, puzzles and snacks! Doing various functional activities while standing helps make standing more fun, which means your child will want to stand more often. The Shadow Tray is easily removable and also adjusts in depth, height, and angle.
