It is the practice in the Spinal Unit of the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital to encourage patients with paraplegia or tetraplegia to stand as much as possible in view of the beneficial effects this position has on their chest, kidneys, and bladder, etc.
